“In the past, my work has been about grief and living through loss, but more recently my practice has been a reflection on bodies. The right to control our own bodies, the media’s hold on what makes a beautiful body, and how we feel within our bodies go into the work. These thoughts and feelings go into the initial sketches, botanical elements are added in, and the rest is intuitive brushwork.”

Kristen Rambo lives and works in Memphis, TN, and has been running an active studio practice since graduating from the Memphis College of Art in 2012.
